DUES, Lyle “Buck” M. - of Burton, formerly of Flint, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 peacefully at his home. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Friday, May 12, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be a viewing for friends and family prior to the service, beginning at 9 AM.
Lyle was born January 18, 1923 in Ludington, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Belle (Flowers) Dues. He was preceded in death by wife, Janet (Becky) Baxter, whom he married in 1941 in Lapeer. He later married Jeanne Rohen, of Burton. Lyle was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army in Germany, France and Poland with the Big Red 1 (1st Infantry Division). He had the great honor of serving as a guard during the Nuremberg trials. Lyle worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint and Grace Lutheran Church. He was an avid archer, golfer, breakfast cook, fisherman and wood craftsman. Lyle also enjoyed spending summer vacations in Northern Michigan at the family cottage and traveling with his grandchildren throughout Canada and the U.S.
Lyle is survived by Jeanne; daughter, Sheila Bemis and husband James of Fort Myers, FL; stepdaughter, Tyra Petosky, of Burton; sister, Lorraine Watkins and husband Dallas, of Roscommon; grandchildren, Heather Combs and husband Brian, of Flushing, Marisa Snyder and husband Harold, of Davison, David Tobias of Flint, and Scott Megyesi and wife Billie Jean of Naples, FL. Lyle is also survived by great grandchildren, Daniel Fearson, of Austin, TX, Joshua Fearson and wife Jill of Ypsilanti, Nicole Snyder of Seattle, WA, Anthony Longclaws, of Stevens, PA., Jenny Combs, of Flushing, Brandon Snyder of Davison, Kylia Tobias of Flint, and Riley and Ryan Megyesi of Naples, FL. Additionally, he had close family members from his marriage to Janet in Livonia. He was preceded in death by siblings, Frederick, Jenny, Mary, Winston, Goldie, Enid, Roy (Monty), Gladys, Warren, Clarence and Thora and in-laws, David and Janet (Jenny) Baxter, of Flint.
