WIGGERS-EDMONDS, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” - of Clio, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at her home at 95 years young, with Curt & Sally by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held AT 11AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Private burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Cancer Research, or the charity of one’s choice. Due to Covid-19, the family respects your wishes if you are unable to attend services in person, for those planning on paying their respects in person, the family requests everyone to please wear a mask when visiting or attending the services.
Mary Elizabeth Zehner was born January 7, 1927, in Elberfeld, Indiana, the first child to the late Clarence and Anna Zehner. In 1948 she married Charles Wiggers in St. Joe, Indiana and to this union they had 3 children. Charles preceded her in death in 1969. In 1971, Mary married Harvey Edmonds and he preceded her in death in 2016.
Mary is survived by her son, Curt (Sally) Wiggers; Daughter, Constance Montgomery; Stepson, Duane Edmonds; Stepdaughter, Shirley Brautigan; 2 granddaughters: Shawn (Rob) & Shannon (Josh); 3 great grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; Brother, Clarence Zehner (Antionette); Sisters-in-law: Elaine Kile, and Thelma (Albert) Snider; Many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by: First husband, Charles Wiggers, Second husband, Harvey Edmonds; Daughter, Charlene Wiggers; Son-in-law, Roger Montgomery; Sister, Deloris (Bob) Gentry; Brother, Marvin (Dorothy) Zehner. The family extends a special thank you to Elaine for all the wonderful care and compassion she gave Betty allowing mother to stay in her own home as well as Carla and Chris from Compassus Hospice.
