SKAFI, Habib Nahla – Of Flint, age 87, died Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Funeral service will held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, The Very Reverend Father Joseph Abud officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Habib was born in Eilaboun, Palestine on June 12, 1935, the son of Hann Moussa Nahla and Saedeh Zeineh Skafi.
He had been married to Marie Abuchaibe Skafi for 55 years and went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2013.
He loved to travel, cook, and telling stories from the Bible.
In 1978 he had the opportunity to serve President Jimmy Carter for the Peace Agreement between Israel and Egypt.
Surviving are 3 sons, Hani and Marianita, Johnny and Diana, Eli and Marilyn;
daughter, Jannette and Nicholas Abuchaibe;
grandchildren, Gabi, Natalie, Nicolasito, Lupita, Daniella, Nicole, Hanito, Mimi, Christopher, Joshua, Rebekah and Hope;
brother, Butrus, Abdalah and Adnan;
sisters, Mofida and Marie Shuwelah.
