BENNETT, Anna Jane (Grimes) (Markle) – of Grand Blanc, age 93, met her Lord and Savior on December 6, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, December 11, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, 48423; Pastor Craig Dockery officiating. Private interment will take place in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or to a charity of your choice, in Anna’s memory.
Anna was born in Malden, MO on June 14, 1930, daughter of the late Clarence and Sadie (Pearman) Markle. Anna married Duane Grimes in 1950 and preceded her in death. In 1987, she married Orill Bennett and were married almost 25 years before his passing in 2011. They enjoyed travelling, spending time at the cabin with their family and loved their church. Anna resided in the Flint and Davison area since 1948. She retired in 1993 from St. Joseph Hospital after 33 years of service. Anna was a founding and lifetime member of the Harbor Church in Burton, where she was considered “Grandma” to everyone there. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and would never miss a game. Anna also enjoyed word search puzzles and playing Monday Bingo with Connie Elder.
Anna is survived by her children, Randy (Pam) Grimes of Grand Blanc, Cindi (Michael) LaJuene of Arizona, Roger (Tina) Bennett of Florida and Doug (Jan) Bennett of Davison; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Margaret (Roger) Tracy of Connecticut and Sondra Lacewell of Missouri; special friends, Mable Glasstetter and Renee Dockery; thoughtful neighbors, Jerry (Jennifer) Harrod, Joe (Carolyne) Simpson and Maria Dye. She was preceded in death by sisters, Peggy Blake and Judy Pellett.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the kind staff at Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc and the wonderful care that Anna received from Ascension Genesys Hospital.
