YAKE, Judy Ann – Of Grand Blanc, Michigan age 73, passed away peacefully at her residence after a long battle with cancer, on Sunday, September 12, 2021. She was surrounded in life and in death by her family, who loved her. It would be wrong to say that Judy lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. Through her we know what resilience, perseverance, love and faith truly look like. Though it was a long and hard battle, she fought bravely to give her family the gift of time.
Visitation will be held 3pm-6pm on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Burial to occur at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Alpena, Michigan.
A memorial service will be celebrated 11am Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5005 McCandlish Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Dennis Himm officiating.
Judy was born in Monroe, Michigan on May 29, 1948, the daughter of Chester and Geraldine (Brown) Lambert. She was a faithful servant and evangelist of Christ. She frequently donated time and money to those in need and modeled love and compassion to her children, of whom she was very proud and boasted of frequently. Judy was outspoken, loving and vibrant. She adored spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, attending church, studying the Bible and watching birds and feeding wildlife. She was a dedicated business woman, wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, James E. Yake; her children, James C. Yake (Melissa), Ruthann Gatica(Alex) and Melody Tesler (Patrick); her grandchildren, Daniel, Maraya, Patrick, Asher, Evelyn, Eliana, Naomi and Natalie; her twin sister, Jill Spangler; and extended family, Woodrow Weeks Jr.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Chester and Geraldine Lambert; brother, Wallace Lambert and daughter, Tiffany Anita Yake.
Judy wanted to express gratitude to her clients that supported her business over the years and shared their lives with her.
