TAUNT, Loretta Mae (Horton) - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023. A private burial service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to K-9 Stray and Rescue League, 2120 Metamora Road, Oxford, MI 48371.
Loretta was born September 6, 1937 in Flint, the daughter of Edgar and Edna (Hilderbrand) Horton. She was a 1955 graduate of Bendle High School. She married Russell George Taunt November 10, 1956 and he preceded her in death March 14, 2020. She had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 30 years coming from Flint. Loretta retired from Retailer's Credit Bureau as the Mortgage Department Supervisor; she also had sold oil painting through Artistic Interiors. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Flint. She was an accomplished seamstress, crafter and volunteered extensively in her community.
Surviving are: her son, Russell R. (Sabrina) Taunt of Grand Blanc; sister, Judy (Allyn) Woodward of Sterling Heights; brother, Douglas (Mary) Horton of Grand Blanc; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Edna Horton. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
