BURTON, Michael L. – of Clio, age 77, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 12PM Monday, December 23, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation will follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM.
Michael was born on December 21, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Jack and Wilma (Young) Burton. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1964 and later attended Mott Community College. Mr. Burton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany and fueled the planes that flew out of Germany to spy on the Russians. Mike dedicated 32 years of his life to Pepsi, including several years as a truck driver, before retiring. A lover of music, he could often be found strumming his guitar. He had a deep appreciation for classic cars, enjoyed vegetable gardening, and had a remarkable talent for repairing televisions. His love for collecting items was only rivaled by his gift for storytelling. Michael was known for his engaging personality, always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone and never meeting a stranger.
Surviving are: Children: Anna (Timothy) Mancour – and their children, Ayla & Braiden; Michael (Clara) Burton; Benjamin Burton – and his daughter, Samantha - along with her children, Brailyn and Madilyn; Ryan Burton; Jessica Billings – and her children, Lucy and Walter; Niece, Kerri (Eric) Burmeister – and their children, Josh and Nick; Loving Companion, Jill Hicks.
