William G. Miekka, age 74 of Corunna, passed away on Friday November 4, 2022 at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Funeral services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Owosso on Wednesday November 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Pastor James Bare will officiate with burial to follow at Pine Tree Cemetery in Corunna. The family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Corunna Chapel on Tuesday from 12-4 & 6-8 PM.
William was born in Flint, MI on September 28, 1946, the son of WIlliam S. & Alberta (Richards) Miekka. He graduated from Central High School in Flint in the class of 1964. Bill worked for General Motors for over 39 years, retiring in 2008 as a Millwright. On November 30, 1974 he married Pamela Kay Witt at Salem Lutheran Church in Owosso. He was an Elder at the church, involved in Boy Scouts and BIg Brothers, enjoyed bowling, hunting and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pamela, daughter Melissa (John) Sutphen Perry, son William Matthew (Tara) Miekka of Bath, 4 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Jack Sperling and sister Judy Lucas and his parents. Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church.
