SMITH, Frances- of Clio, age 83, died Saturday, July 16, 2022, at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Frances was born September 30, 1938, in Clio, to the late Roy and Madeline (Haight) Holbin. She attended Clio Community Schools and was a co-owner of S and H Glass in Clio with her husband from 1967 until 1997, when they retired. On September 22, 1956, Frances married the love of her life and best friend, Vernon Smith Sr., and together they shared 65 beautiful years of marriage. After retirement, Frances proudly became a stay-at-home mother and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, home decorating, and especially fashion. Frances loved everything country, from listening to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, to turning her home into a warm, welcoming farmhouse themed location for loved ones to gather. Above all, Frances adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family whenever possible. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Frances is forever loved by her husband, Vernon Smith Sr.; Children: Vernon Roy (Sherry A.) Smith Jr., Robin Williams, Karri Trezona, and Shana (Jerrod) Smelker; Grandchildren: Kent A., Kristin N., Christopher, Chelsea, Katie, Brandon, Jonathon, Spencer, Amber, and Jacob; Many great grandchildren; Siblings: Dick Holbin and Mary Bloss; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Frances was preceded in death by her son, Brian Smith and several siblings. |
