MOORE, Odell M. (Pickett) - age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at her home. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Monday, February 10, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Robert D. Taylor officiating. Private burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1 PM until the time of the service on Monday.
Odell was born in Whitwell, TN on January 14, 1937, daughter of the late Riley and Minnie (Turner) Pickett. She married Alvin Moore on December 27, 1956 in Angola, IN, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2021. She graduated from Whitwell High School in 1956 and went on to work at Woolworth in Detroit. Odell worked at Stevens Printing in Sandusky, Ohio from 1957-1962. Alvin and Odell then moved to Flint, MI from 1962-1969 and later moved to Davison, MI until their passing. Odell was a true southern belle. Her love and enjoyment were her family, she was a loving mother and wife. Odell lived for her sons, sharing in their every success, encouraging through every challenge and supporting through adversity. Though she may have departed from our sight, her love will forever remain in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Odell is survived by sons, Mark Moore and Steve Moore; sister, Nita Scott of Flushing, MI; brother, Ernest Pickett of Whitwell, TN; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cleo Campbell, Tual May Coppinger, Helen Billingsley and Don Pickett.
