Eric E. Soper, age 60 of Mayville passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional. He spent his final days with friends and family. Eric was born on August 9, 1960 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Gary and Diane (Osmon) Soper. He grew up in the Fostoria area and was a 1978 graduate of Mayville High School.
On June 8, 1996, Eric married Teresa Czaczkowsi at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch, MI. Eric enjoyed fishing, hunting and all outdoor activities. He loved to cook. The top of his favorite things to do was spending time with his family and friends.
Eric is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Teresa; his son, Justin James Soper; his mother, Diane Soper; his sister, Dawn (Michael) Currie; his mother-in-law, Betty Czaczkowski; his in-laws, Dan (Sandy) Czaczkowski, Marcia (Dave) Kaltz and Angela (Todd Bond) Peplinski; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Soper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 600, Chicago, Illinois, 60611.
Visitation for Eric will be on Friday, June 18, 2021, 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Saturday, June 19, 2021, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Richard Treml will officiate. Eric will be laid to rest at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
