VORHES, Joyce Ann (Grymonprez)- age 88, of Linden, formerly of Yale, MI, passed away July 8, 2022. Memorial Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden. Ms. Colleen Lewandowski will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the service time on Sunday.
Joyce was born December 30, 1933 in Pontiac, MI, the daughter of the late George W. & Esther (Spicer) Stilwell. She was married to Leon Grymonprez who preceded her in death on March 15, 1971. Leon and Joyce were longtime residents of Yale and the Grymonprez family owned and operated Yale Furniture & Upholstery from 1932-1966. She later married Arthur Lloyd Vorhes and after many wonderful years together he preceded her in death on May 2, 2012. Joyce was infamously known as the "Deer Whisperer", she was an avid golfer, loved to cook, bake, and make crafts, specifically crocheting and knitting.
Surviving are her children, Lynn (Grymonprez) Harkins (John) of Anaheim, CA, Gary (Diana) Grymonprez of San Dimas, CA, and Karen (Bob) Armstrong of Linden, MI; her step-children, Wayne (Linda) Vorhes, Gwen (Tony) Wilkes, Kathy (Jim) Burd, and Craig Vorhes; her twin sister Joanne McGill of Lake Placid, FL; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings James & Richard Stilwell, and Theresa Kruger. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
