WOHLFERT, Mary Ann - Age 81, of Interlochen, formerly of Fenton, passed away December 5, 2023. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. The family will receive friends from 12PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton, in memory of Ali Wohlfert. Mary was born October 19, 1942 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Evans) Valleau. She married Duane Wohlfert on August 19, 1963; he preceded her in death on June 19, 2006. Mary retired from Fenton Schools, where she made many lifelong friendships, after 32 years. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling and wintering at her home near Venice, Florida. Mary was a voracious reader, enjoyed sunrises on Duck Lake and loved her dog, Sadie. Mary loved sports and her alma mater Michigan State University. When she was home in Michigan you could find her road tripping all over the state to watch her grandchildren participating in activities. She is survived by her children, Shellie (William) Butler, David (Jennifer) Wohlfert and Christopher (Amy) Wohlfert; grandchildren, Lane, Thomas, Brian, Emily, Owen and Jake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; granddaughter, Ali Wohlfert and sister, Carol Zimmerman. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
