Treib, Robert J., Sr. – of St. Helen and Saginaw, age 85, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM, Monday, July 24, 2023, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home – 503 N. Mill St. Clio, MI. 48420. Don O’Guinn will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2-5 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Ark Association To Rescue Kritters in St. Helen, or a charity of choice.
Bob was born October 5, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Jacob and Gladys (Zissler) Treib. He had resided full time in St. Helen since 1997 coming from the Bridgeport / Saginaw area. Bob owned and operated Central Metallizing & Machine (Treib, Inc.) in Saginaw for over 63 years. He married Susan Sumption on June 1, 1991. Bob enjoyed his home on Lake St. Helen and loved nature and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed reading, woodworking, world history, television, and music – especially old-time country and the blues. Bob had a great sense of humor, and a quick wit, and loved telling jokes. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife, Susan; Children: Bob (Tammy) Treib of Saginaw, Don Treib of Flint, Julie (Tim) Ostler of Saginaw, and Bill (Jill) Treib of Saginaw; Grandchildren: Greg (Kayla), Molly, Sarah (Kyle), Brad (Jen), Travis (Rebecca), Zachary (Shelby), Kayla, Kevin, Nicol (Bill), Kyle (Nicole), Jordan (Ali), Alex; Great-grandchildren: Aidan, Noah, Hudson, Tristan, Scotlyn, Grayson, Ace, Connor, Parker, Maddie, Olivia, Liam, Emersyn, and Kolton; Siblings: Virginia Thomas, Ken (Jill) Treib, Sally Ross, Dorothy (Roy) Woods; Sister-in-law, Barb Luplow; Many special friends and neighbors. Bob was also preceded in death by his brothers: Tom and David (Denia), granddaughter, Erin Chelsey, and brother-in-law, Jerry.
