SHORT, Edward Arthur – of Montrose, age 79, died Monday, October 31, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. Carol J. Freeland officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Edward was born January 8, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Harold and Beatrice (Bailey) Short. He grew up in Montrose, Michigan and graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1961. On January 26, 1963 he married Virginia Rieder in Chesaning, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Edward worked for Buick-GM as a Pipe Fitter at the Buick City Plant with 37 years of service. He enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino with his wife. Edward was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan. However, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife of 59 years, Virginia Short; Children, Jeffery (Dawn) Short, Lori Short; Grandchildren, Chelsey (Brian) Loper, Alicia (Chad) Brewster, Verity (Nick) Annese, Maisey (Josh) Soleimani; Great Grandchildren, Alexis Brewster, Everleigh Loper, Charleigh Loper, Serrena Loper, Graham Soleimani, Stella Annese; Siblings, Carolyn Kish, Diane (Chuck) Wendling, Mervin Short; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
