KITA, Dorothy Christine - Of Grand Blanc, formerly of Burton, age 95, died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, Father Andrew Czajkowski officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, The American Kidney Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kita will be at the church from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Memorial Mass.
Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on February 3, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Christine (Alexander) Weisgerber.
On February 22, 1947, Dorothy married the love of her life, Donald F. Kita and they shared 45 years together.
Dorothy worked 25 years for Drs. Clayton Stroup, Quincy Fan and Richard Antell. After retirement you would often find her working for her daughter at DOT Scientific, Inc.
Cooking was a passion of Dorothy's. She also enjoyed painting, playing cards, bingo and scrabble with her family and friends. She loved to travel and wintered for many years in Destin, Florida.
Dorothy was a member of the Altar Society of Blessed Sacrament/St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving are children, Donald (Terry) Kita, David (Cindy) Kita, Dottie (Dave Joseph) Boone, Danita (Tom) Riker and Deloris (John) Ervin;
grandchildren, Brian, Patrick, Tracy, Kristen, Don, Michael, Michele, Lisa, Eric, Dana and Rachel;
15 great-grandchildren;
sister, Martha Stuckert;
cousins, Emily Slivinski and Dorothy Williams;
dear friend, Marty Antell and many friends of Abbey Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Kita; son-in-law, Donald Boone; siblings, Edward Weisgerber, Paul Weisgerber, Ruth Stuckert, Elaine Hays and Kathy Swick.
