Born December 29, 1948
Died June 6, 2023 due to complications from long time health issues.
Sandra was born and raised in Flint MI. Her mother Rachel McCullum was a surgical nurse at McLaren and then Flint Osteopathic Hospital and her Father Veto Ferro was a Tool and Die Maker at Buick. She met her husband John Jones at the age of 12 years old. He was the Ice Cream boy in her neighborhood, and they were friends for several years before marrying young and having three children: Tracy, Tammy and Tonya.
In her early years she went to Zimmerman Elementary and Southwestern High School. She was a rebellious child. Her mother and father separated when she was young, so her father spoiled her and gave her everything she wanted.
She married on July 24th 1965. She became a mother at a young age: Tracy was born in 1966, Tammy in 1967 and Tonya in 1971. She did the best she could as a young mother and was assisted by many aunts, uncles and grandparents to help her and her husband raise three children.
She went on to become a baker at Kessel and worked there many years before retiring from there in 1999. She enjoyed baking, puzzles, card games, pets, Zoo Trips, reading, music and watching movies. Her favorite movie was Gone With the Wind and she collected memorabilia to reflect this. She enjoyed her grandchildren, spending time with family on the beach and cookouts.
She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Earnest and husband Jerome Earnest, Tammy Bishop and partner Duane Bigger, & Tonya Jones; her brother Mike McCullum and Family; sister Sharon Tipton and family; grandchildren, Jacob Holt, Rayeann Battles, Katarina Keeley, Janie Bricino; and great grandchildren, Kyla, Sonny, Destiny, Savanah, Olman, and Janie; nieces Danyelle and Shawnee; and best friend Terry Frazier.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Veto Ferro, Rachel McCullum, her husband John Jones and her grandson Joshua Paul Hilton Holt, and friend Barb Jones
The family would like to thank Henry Ford Hospital for the liver transplant that gave her many years of life and the Medilodge of Grand Blanc Nursing staff for the excellent care and empathy that was shown to her in her last days. Also, Ascension Genesys Hospital and their doctors and nurses care that kept her going on several occasions.
We will miss her spunky attitude and some of her favorite sayings, Move your nose Jones, Oh You Girls! One of you girls go get me a Coke, I need to go to the store, and many more censored sayings.
She was loved and will be missed and is now,
