WARD, Billy Joe – Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the time of the service.
Billy was born in Paragould, Arkansas on September 7, 1931, the son of the late Frank and Derondra (May) Ward.
On December 23, 1955 he married Virginia North and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2015.
Billy loved to play golf, taking care of his dogs and mowing the lawn. Most of all he loved his family.
Billy was Assistant Superintendent at GM for 44 years.
Surviving are son, Scott;
grandchildren, Warren McClure, Heather McClure, Kyle (Ericka) Ward, Seth Ward, Joe Monter, Brooke Faust and Jarrett Hyatt;
great-grandchildren, Jaydon Hyatt, Kyhlie Hyatt, Levi Hyatt and Ella Hyatt;
sisters, Jane and Don Utley of Arkansas, Yvonne and Bob Kieffer of Newport, Arkansas;
brother and sisters-in-law, Clinton North, Bernita Henson and Nina Sneller;
11 nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Jennifer; sisters, Barb Garner and Sandra Haffer; sister-in-law, Velda; nieces and nephews, Leslie Utley, David Utley, Gary Newberry and Lisa Sneller.
