HARTSON, Rex James - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023. A service will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream will be available on Rex's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Joseph Novak officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM Wednesday until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society.
Rex was born November 23, 1942 in Flint, the son of Rex Beach and Agnes Smith (Robertson) Hartson. He was a 1960 graduate of Flint Central High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1975 coming from Flint. Rex retired in 1999 from GM Buick Motors Division after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint and the D.A.V.
Surviving are: his siblings, Ann St. Pierre of Florida, Marie Batche of Swartz Creek, Jeanne Daunt of Flint, Evelyn (Tom) Thompson of Byron, Barbara (Bob) Clontz of Clio, Janet (Steven) Lamb of Albuquerque, NM and David Hartson of Swartz Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Agnes Hartson; sister, Virginia Stocker; and brother, Jimmy Hartson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfunealhomes.com. |
