DARLING, Marlene Y. – of Flint, Michigan, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. A private Graveside Committal Service will be held at Flint Memorial Park, 9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Pastor Jason Crum and Dr. Alan Yerke officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd, Davison, MI. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until time of memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison Missionary Church in Marlene’s memory.
Marlene was born in Acme Township, MI (Traverse City) on September 28, 1936, the daughter of Gilbert and Renabelle (Burfiend) Lichty. She married Ronald Darling on September 8, 1956, in Traverse City. Marlene attended Davison Missionary Church and was a gifted pianist. She loved spending time with her family, helping other people and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Shelly (Gary) Rayment, Jeff (Patty) Darling and Ronald G. (Marie) Darling; grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Rayment; Craig (Ashley) Rayment, Hannah (Fiancé Kent Eagleson) Darling, Meredith Darling, Aaron Darling and Seth Darling; great grandchildren, Alex Rayment, Colin Rayment, Katy Rayment, Chloe Rayment and Julia Rayment; loving sister, Marge (Gary) Bright; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald Lichty.
