Glowski, Helen Leona, of Grand Blanc, age 90, passed peacefully into eternal life on May 27, 2022. Helen was born in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of John and Leokadia Bieleniewicz, who emigrated from Poland several years prior to her birth. She was raised in Flint and attended Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing, earning her Bachelor Degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at McLaren Hospital and at General Motors Fisher Body #1 and Truck and Bus. Helen was an active member of the former All Saints Catholic Church, Genesee Star Quilters, Polish Legion of American Veterans (PLAV) Post #8 and Grand Blanc Heritage Museum.
Surviving are beloved husband of 67 years, Edward; four children, John and wife Gail, Daniel, Ronald James and wife Dr. Nilda Garcia, Gary and wife Sheri; eight grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Glowski and husband David Nazari, Scott Glowski and wife Virginia, Lauren Glowski, Rachel Glowski, David Glowski, Gregory James, Brian Glowski, and Anna Glowski; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted and Stan Bieleniewicz and sister, Genevieve Weigandt.
Helen enjoyed quilting, sewing, watercolor painting and gardening as well as cooking and baking, showing her love for family and friends with countless, delicious Polish meals.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 4-7 pm with a funeral service and celebration of life at Swartz Funeral Home on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 am. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery will follow at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those desiring to make a memorial contribution may donate to the Saginaw General Hospital Alumni Association Nursing Scholarship Fund or PLAV Post #8.
