SHANK, Regina B. (Boris) - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, went to be with her Lord and her husband, Floyd, Saturday, February 21, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 12-8 PM and at church Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. A scripture service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
Regina was born February 1, 1936 in Elmira the daughter of Anthony and Viola (Pawlak) Boris. She married Floyd D. Shank October 13, 1956 in Boyne City and he preceded her in death July 26, 2002. She retired from J.C. Penney's and had also been employed by Swartz Creek Community Schools. She had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 50 years. Regina was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was a member of Council of Catholic Women and U.A.W. Retiree's. She also was a volunteer for Salvation Army (Canteen and Christmas Kettles), St. Andrews Soup Kitchen, Red Cross, and McLaren-Flint.
Surviving are: 4 daughters, Sharon Oakes and husband Rob of Clio, Mary Wright of Swartz Creek, Christine Holmes of Kokomo, IN, Judy Busnardo and husband Dennis of Arvada, CO; son, Donald Shank and wife Kim of Swartz Creek; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Michelle, Jamie, Amanda, and Daniel (who is currently serving in the U.S. Army) and wife Trina; 10 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; and 1 brother-in-law. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
