Sue Ann Laura Gibbon, age 81, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Henry Ford Genesys. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, with Fr. Louis Ekka as celebrant. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of Mass. A committal service will follow at 2:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Sue Ann was born on October 12, 1944, in Omer, Michigan, the daughter of the late Carl and Evelyn (Reinhart) Setlak. She graduated from Standish-Sterling High School, Class of 1962. Sue Ann continued her education at Baker College, where she earned her associate degree in business. Sue Ann and Thomas Gibbon were united in marriage on November 8, 1969, in Standish. Sadly, Thomas preceded her in death in 2018. Sue Ann worked as a systems tech analyst for GM Buick for 42 years until her retirement. She also served her community as an election chairperson in the Grand Blanc area for many years. In her free time, Sue Ann enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening.
She is survived by her two loving children, Tanya (Robert) Wogaman and Todd (Tiffany) Gibbon; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samantha, Logan, Grayson, and Breana; three great-grandchildren, Hanna, Rory, and Delaney; and many nieces and nephews. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
