Steven Dale Harris, 69, of St. Charles, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on November 25th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2pm - 8pm with a Vigil service at 7pm, at McGeehan Funeral Home - Martin Chapel. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11am with visitation from 10am until the time of mass, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Maple Grove. A private burial of ashes will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
Steve was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Willard and Vella Bee Harris. He graduated in 1973 from Chesaning Union High School. In 1974, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was stationed at Cherry Point North Carolina. There, he spent 2 years as a bulk refuel man for Military aircraft. Following the Military, he worked at Buick Motor Division for 10 years. He then hired into Michigan Bell/AT&T as a construction splicer, retiring in January 2019.
Over the years, Steve enjoyed many different hobbies such as hunting, bee keeping, raising coon dogs, scuba diving, model airplanes, video games, and many more. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and could do anything he put his mind to. Steve grew up hunting with his brothers, friends, and family, and had endless stories to share. He was well known for being a skilled “Turkey Caller”. He also loved to ride his Harley and was a member of the Proud Veterans Motorcycle Club. Most importantly, Steve will be remembered as a loving Father and Grandfather.
Steve leaves to cherish his memory, Jackie Harris, Daughter, Nicole (Cameron) Amman, Granddaughters, Arlo & Ruby Amman, Sister, Judy Koepplinger, Brothers, Les Harris, Charlie (Nita) Harris, Sisters-in-law, Delilah, Edith, and Kelli Harris, and many beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Steven Harris, parents Willard and Vella Bee, Brothers, Dave, Wayne, and Phil Harris, Sister-in-law, Tonia Harris, and Brother-in-law, Denny Koepplinger.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Wounded Warriors Foundation or The American Legion.
