Mrs. Barbara L. (Berridge) Rude of Millington passed away early Sunday morning August 2, 2015 at her residence. Barb was 79.
Barb was born in Lapeer, Michigan on July 20, 1936 and was the daughter of the late George and Daisy (Schroeder) Berridge. Barb was raised in the Millington and Otter Lake area and was a graduate from Millington High School. On January 11, 1958 Barb married James Rude, and together she and James have celebrated 57 years of marriage. Barb was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington where at one time she was very active serving in the church. She had a love for horses and raised Arabians, she love playing soft ball and played for many seasons on DJ. Beauty Shops team, Barb also coached her share of teams. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan; she was no fair-weather fan she was true to the end of the season.
Barb leaves her husband Jim. She leaves also her four children; Daniel and Kathy Rude, Diane and James MacKay, Lisa and Terrell Bach, and Mark and Julie Rude. She leaves also her nine grandchildren; Jennifer and Josh Galbreath, Ashley and David Wertz, Kelsi McAlister, Conner MacKay, Madeline, Aidan, Emmett, Brandon and Tyler. She has also sister and brother in-law Georgia and Steve Stadler, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides her parents Barb is also prceded in death by a sister Helen Berridge.
The family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and a brief time Friday morning at the St. Paul Lutheran Church from 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Barb will be Friday August 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the burial to follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
