Earl Paul Barker, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2026, at the age of 76.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Pastor Clifford Schroeder officiating.
There will be no graveside service.
Visitation will be held at 12pm Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
He was born on January 12, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, to Thomas Barker and Pauline (Chaney) Barker Turpin.
Earl was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked as a millwright for General Motors and took pride in his many years of hard work. He was married to Brenda (Bowditch) Gumpp Barker and was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandeen (Tallman) Barker.
Earl is survived by his son, Earl Barker II, and his wife, Bonnie (McDaniel) Barker; his daughter, Janel (Barker) Kosc, and her husband, Matt Kosc; and his grandchildren, Abigail Barker and her husband, Caleb Sumney, Spencer Kosc, Victoria Kosc, and Grace Barker. He is also survived by his brothers, Lance Barker and Cal Barker.
Earl was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Barker, Kelly Barker, and Gary Barker.
Earl enjoyed life and kept busy doing the things he loved. He was an avid pickleball player and enjoyed the friendships and activity that came with the sport. He loved gardening and took pride in working with his hands. Earl also generously gave his time by volunteering at his church. He was always working on a home project, finding something to build, repair, improve, or simply keep himself busy with. He also cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Rigsby, who was a special part of his life.
Earl will be remembered for the life he shared with his family, his willingness to lend a hand, and the many memories he created with those who loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
