WELSH, Doris Leah -- Age 94, of Davison, died August 14, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday August 19 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road Swartz Creek with a 7 PM Rosary. Visitation will also be from 10 AM Friday until time of Mass at the church.
Doris was born December 6, 1927 in Swartz Creek the daughter of Basil Joseph Sweeney and Leah (Goss) Sweeney. She married Jack Welsh June 28, 1947 in Swartz Creek; he preceded her in death on September 16, 1994. She worked at Krogers and Sears as her children grew older. Doris was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, in Davison. She enjoyed writing poetry and oil painting. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed to play shuffleboard.
She is survived by her children, Janice (Chris)Staehli of Davison, Robert Welsh of New Mexico; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andy) Brasseur of Burton, David (Stacy) Staehli of Davison, Paul Staehli of Flint; great-grandchildren Emily (Aaron) Woolley, Alyson Staehli, and Chris (Sydney) Staehli; 2 great grandchildren, Avery Woolley, Parker Woolley; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; son, Gary; 7 brothers; great grandson, Kyle. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
