PETERIE, Helen "Kathy" (Sauve) – of Flint, age 59, became our guardian angel on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. She was the heart and soul of her family; a fighter, who never gave up the fight of her life. Her family was constantly “amazed” by her love and kindness.
The daughter of Thomas and Shirley (Fitzgerald) Sauve she was born March 16, 1954 in West Branch, MI. After a 35 year long career at Genesys Hospital, Kathy retired in 2013 as an Executive administrative assistant to the CEO. Kathy married her soul mate, Gary Peterie on January 1, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. Kathy was the strongest, bravest women and was an inspiration to every person she met. Kathy had a passion for gardening and enjoyed singing karaoke with her beloved husband; daughter Gina; and granddaughter Tiffani.
Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Gregory Sauve and nephew Jeremy Sauve in 2012, she is in good company now as they are all looking after us. She is survived by: her husband, Gary; daughter Gina Peterie; granddaughter, Tiffani Hart; grandson, Adam Hart; parents, Thomas and Shirley Sauve; mother-in-law, Margaret Peterie; brother, Scott(Shelia) Sauve, sister-in-law, Shirley Sauve; brother-in-laws; Kenny (Alice) Peterie and David (Carol) Peterie; niece, Andrea (Frank) Gerzetich; nephew, Chad Sauve; a very special friend and caregiver, Abelia (Bill) Crump; and dogs Bailey and Teddy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-8 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again.
