Bonner, Ella G. - Age 95, of Flint Twp, passed away August 28, 2022. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, September 2, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Chaplain Cory Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 3-8 PM Thursday, September 1 and 1 PM Friday, September 2, 2022 until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the ALS Association, www.als.org.
Ella was born August 28, 1927 in Flint, the daughter of Chester E. and Grace (Hurley) Martin. She was a 1945 graduate of Flint Central High School. Ella married Charles A. Bonner in Flint, on her birthday, August 28, 1947. She was a homemaker, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling. She was a talented knitter and made baby sweaters for her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Ella was a longtime, devoted member of Calvary Methodist Church in Flint. She attended a prayer group every Thursday at her sister Evelyn's home.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul J. (Kathleen) Bonner; sisters, Mary (Rich) Ray and Evelyn Olsen; granddaughters, Dr. Beth (Jon) Kurt, Laura (Paul) Seamon, Errin (Rudi) Destics, Hilary (Rob) Bartholdson, Elizabeth (Cameron) Carr, Breque (Tyler) Burkhead, and Lauren Bonner; great-grandchildren, Libby and Regan Kurt, Elise, Julia, Jacob, and Cara Seamon, Miles and Remy Destics, Theo and Jude Bartholdson; daughter-in-law, Debby (John) Bonner-Kloosterman; dear friend, Judy Jackson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; and sons, Patrick and Brian Bonner.
The family would like to thank the professionals at Woodhaven Senior Community and The Medical Team Hospice for their care and loving dedication to Ella.
