FARIS, Bernadine Mae (Keirns) – of Flint, MI, age 83, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison; Pastor Aaron Johnson officiating. Interment in Davison Cemetery directly following the service. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM Monday, December 26, 2022 and 11 AM until time of Service on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, in Bernadine’s memory.
Bernadine was born in Flint, MI on April 3, 1939, daughter of the late Bernard and Hazel Keirns. She married Walter Leroy Faris on May 21, 1960, and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2021. Bernadine enjoyed fishing with her husband on the great lakes, staying in her summer home at Leisure Lake, camping throughout Michigan. Particularly Old Orchard Park Campground in Oscoda, MI, staying here created family gatherings and traditions. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Angel and her many cats. Bernadine enjoyed spending time with her family, her heart was full of love for her children, grandchildren and especially her husband of 62 years.
Bernadine is survived by 3 children, Robert “Bob” (Tammy) Faris, Cathy (Richard) Digard and Doug (Tina) Faris; 6 grandchildren, Joe (Erin) Workman, Kristie (Richard) Egan, Jessica (Joe) Owczarski and Kaily (Todd Craton) Faris, Krystal (Dave) Pettengill, Samantha (Justin) Gear; 16 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Leroy Faris: sibling, Joan (Richard) Elliott.
