Gary Clyde Nixon, Jr.
Age 60 of Sanford passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Gary was born on November 30, 1961 to Gary C. Nixon Sr. and Fauna (Walker) Nixon in Owosso. He graduated from Chesaning High School with the class of 1980.
Gary carried on his father's legacy as the owner/operator of Nixon's Grocery in Brant, Michigan after he passed in 2015. The family will proudly keep the store open; it is currently managed by Gary's brother, Mike. Gary Jr. began working in the store when he was just 8 years old, and he loved working alongside his father. His co-workers and customers were his second family. Gary was a great salesman - according to his family, he could sell you ice in Alaska.
Throughout his life, Gary also enjoyed boating on the lake and fishing.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Chenille (Joe) Stroup; his grandson, Brayln; his mother, Fauna Nixon; his siblings, Kim, Mike, Julie, and Karla; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Rachelle) Nixon, Lucas (Ashley) Nixon, Crystal (Derrick) Anderson, Trevor Carlson, and Erin Carlson; 5 great-nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his father, Gary Nixon Sr.
