Douglas William McGaffey, 75, of Lapeer formerly of Columbiaville, died Sunday April 8, 2018. He was born March 3, 1943 in Pontiac to parents Ernest and Nina (Manwell) McGaffey.
Doug was a truck driver and even owned a pizzeria in the past. He married Margo Lamson on August 14, 1988 in LasVegas. Doug was a member of the Lapeer Fraternal Order of Eagles; where he enjoyed socializing and the camaraderie, similar to an extended family. He also enjoyed playing cards and hunting when he was younger.
Mr. McGaffey is survived by his step-children: Kim Fuhr; Phil Fuhr, grandchildren: Brenda; Jessica and Karissa, brother: Ernest “Mac” McGaffey of Flushing, nephews & niece: Ernest, III; Scott; Lane; Shanda as well as many dear Eagles friends, especially: Terry & Tami Mller and Beverly Oneil. He was preceded in death by his wife: Margo (in 2005) and his parents.
Doug’s visitiation will be 1:30-4:30 & 5:30-8:00pm Wednesday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. His funeral will be 2:00pm Thursday at Muir Brothers.
