Lewis E. Fent, age 89 of Otisville, died on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Medilodge of Montrose. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. His memorial service will be at 3PM on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 2PM until the time of his service. The family would like to share in a time of fellowship at the Forest Twp. Hall, immediately following the service until 7PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Forest Twp. Fireman’s Association, 130 E. Main St., Otisville, MI 48463.
Louie was born in Vassar, MI on August 20, 1934 to Ellsworth and Mary Fent. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War era. He married Sandra Wagner on March 30, 1957 in Saginaw, MI. He was the local barber in Otisville for many years. Louie was a member of the Otisville Fire Department, Flint Banjo Club, Auto City Banjo Club, Otisville Jaycees, and the Otisville Lions Club. He enjoyed playing the Banjo, woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and going to the Casino.
He is survived by his children: Pat (Mike) Davis, Tom (Dorothy) Fent, and Sharon (Bob) Kurtz; grandchildren: Scott (Tara) Davis, Matt (Amanda) Davis, Amanda Fent, Tim Fent, Ashley (Jason) Morse, Rachel Wittbrodt, and Bobby (Beth) Kurtz; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Hoard; and special friend, Daryl Banyas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Fent; infant son, Michael Fent; and siblings: Henry Fent, Roy Fent, and MaryLee Astbury.
