In loving memory of Scott Alan Tarkleson, born in Richmond, Indiana in October 1957. He is survived by his wife, Jonie Bartelson; sons, Thomas and Eric Tarkleson; mother, Arlene Chumley; siblings, Kent, George and Elizabeth; numerous nieces and nephews. Scott's life journey led him from Michigan to Utah, where he embraced the spirit of adventure as a ski bum, and there he met the love of his life, Jonie Bartelson, eventually returning to Michigan, where they raised their two sons. They shared 37 wonderful years together.
Scott was a man of many talents; a gifted artist, builder, guitar player, and singer. He had an unwavering passion for the Grateful Dead, and his love for fishing, golfing, and music enriched his life immensely.
Throughout his life, Scott was actively involved in his community. As the president of the rotary club, he took the lead in various community service initiatives, embodying his altruistic nature and philanthropic spirit. He believed in giving back and made a positive impact on the lives of many.
Today, we remember Scott as a loving husband, son and brother, a devoted father, and a cherished friend and mentor to many. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through the beautiful moments he shared with those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Friday, August 4, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with Fr. David Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 2PM until the time of service. A celebration of his life will also be held on Saturday evening. Details will be available at the memorial service.
