HERZOG, Lawrence R. - Age 77, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at home with his loving family.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Todd Regester officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 1-8pm Friday and 10am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Lawrence was born in Flint on October 8, 1940, the son of the late Roy and Norine Herzog. On October 28, 1961, he married his wife of 56 years, Kay Crabtree in Flint. Lawrence was employed 41 years with General Motors as a Tool and Die Machinist. Lawrence saved countless lives as a lifelong blood donor. He enjoyed bowling, toured the country to bowl and was a member of the 700 Club. He also enjoyed stamp collecting and coin collecting. He was a member of the Friday Night Card Club. Lawrence was a lifelong U of M Fan. He attended every game as long as he could.
Surviving are wife, Kay;
children, Jill (Mike) Pauley, Janice Herzog, Jennifer Redinger;
grandchildren, Michael (Suzanne) Pauley, Kristen (Justin) Gardner and Aaron Redinger;
great-granddaughter, Genevieve Gardner;
siblings, Marianne Herzog, John Herzog;
sister-in-law, Kathy Crabtree;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim.
