Childers, Michael “Mike” – of Burton, age 66, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Woodlawn Home of Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 1PM until 4PM. A private burial will take place on Monday, December 5, 2022. Memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Eyes.
Mike was born October 23, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, to Dareld and Jean (Wood) Childers. He worked for General Motors for 30 years working in production, Mike retired in 2006. Mike was a godly man and valued his faith and trust in God. He enjoyed anything that had to do with sports from watching and playing and learning the game. Mike loved fishing, camping, being outdoors, and playing Euchre. He was an avid runner, and a big U of M fan, even a fan of those horrible Detroit Lions. One of his favorite pastimes was watching his grandchildren play sports, and their band concerts, he was their biggest fan. He will be greatly missed by many.
Surviving are: Mother, Jean Wood; Daughters: Tracy Childers, and Cheryl (Jeremy) McIntosh; Grandchildren: Riley (Gabby) Simco, Taylor, Owen, Caleb, Avery and Aiden Simco, Brendan and Camryn McIntosh, Alyssa Alber; Siblings: William Childers, and Susan (Erich) Lichtenfelt; Several nieces and nephews; Life long friends: Creighton (Diane) Gross, and Steve McCarthy. He is preceded in death by his father, Dareld Childers; Grandma, Dolly Bates; Sister-In-Law, Cathy Childers; Best Friend, Kenny Eastham, and fur baby, Buster.
