Garnet May Mietz, age 77, of Mayville, MI passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Covenant Cooper in Saginaw, MI.
She was born July 26, 1945 in Flint, MI to the late Warren and Ruth (Scovel) Berry. Garnet was a graduate of Atherton High School with the Class of 1963. She married Elezar Mietz on July 20, 1963 in Flint, MI. She was a member of Juniata Baptist Church and Mayville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Garnet is survived by her son, Darin (Chrystal) Mietz; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.; sisters, Bonnie (Steve) Turnbow and Debbie Smith; brother, Warren (Glenda) Berry; and daughter-in-law, Lois Mietz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elezar in 2018; son, David in 2023; grandson, Kory; and brother, Arthur Berry.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 AM on Friday, March 24, 2023 with a Celebration of Life at 11 AM at Juniata Baptist Church with Pastor Del Terpenning officiating.
Memorials can be made to the American Legion Post #181.
