MCMILLIN, SUSAN D.- Of Grand Blanc, MI, age 81, died peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Entombment at Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Visitation 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Susan was born in Flint, Michigan on August 23, 1941, the daughter of the late Roland and Edna (Hehn) Johnson.
Being the driven individual that she was, Susan started out working as a hairdresser, before taking a job in the AC Sparkplug division of GM, and ultimately finishing her career as a supervisor for GM Delphi. From there, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning a horse farm where she ran her own business of horse breading, riding lessons and boarding, along with sponsoring various horse clubs and shows.
Susan was a loving mother and grandmother, kind friend and a joy to anyone who knew her. She loved animals and was most happy when tending to the needs of others. She was truly a special person with kind soul that will surely be missed by all the people whose lives she has touched.
Susan is survived by her children, James Porn and his wife Dora Porn, Dana Kurdyla and her husband Michael Kurdyla, Bradley McMillin and his wife Gina McMillin; her sister, Fay Freed; grandchildren, Lauren Sides, Nicole Sides, Evan McMillin, Garrett McMillin, and step- grandchildren, Reece Kurdyla and Kayla Kurdyla.
