Lloyd Joseph Henige
Age 84 of New Lothrop passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at McLaren - Flint.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 4, 2020 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3rd from 2:00 to 8:00pm at McGeehan Funeral Homes Martin Chapel.
Lloyd was born on June 13, 1936 to Albert and Louise (Hemker) Henige in Flint. He was the oldest of 7 children. Lloyd married Marjorie Garant on October 19, 1957; they celebrated 63 years of marriage this year.
Lloyd worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing for 39 years, retiring in 1992. During his life, he enjoyed woodworking and building wooden toys for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, and of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Marjorie Henige; his 7 children, Chris (Mary) Henige, Kevin (Donna) Henige, Keith (Dolores) Henige, Neil (Brenda) Henige, Diana (Eric) Klein, Glenn (Lori) Henige, and Denise (Michael) Wendling; his 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Helen Cottenham, Marilyn (John) Ecken, Ronald (Marilyn) Henige, Patrick (Nancy) Henige, William (Esther) Henige, and Larry Henige; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Louise Henige; his brother-in-law, Harvey Cottenham; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Henige.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Twin Township Ambulance or Junction of Hope.
