Katherine "Kay" C. Lillvis, of Flushing, Michigan, age 96, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. Burial to follow at New calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at Rossell Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary, and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the Mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Kay was born in Ironwood, Michigan on May 10, 1927, to George and Mary (Hein) Zuchowski. Kay was wedded to the love of her life, Ilmar Lillvis on July 9th 1947, and they shared a blessed life filled with faith family and friends for 39 years unil his passing in 1986. She spent all of her life following in the footsteps of Jesus and taking care of her beloved family. Kay and Ilmar were longtime members of Saint John Vianney Church in Flint MI. In recent years when Kays health declined she and her daughter Karen found solace at St Robert Bellarmine Church in Flushing, MI the city in which she has loved since 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Terrence) Kaufmann; daughter-in-law, Irma Jean Schirf; granddaughter, Erica (Christopher) Ayers; great-grandchildren, Gavin Christopher Ayers, Vivienne Jean Ayers, and Oliver Matthew Ayers; and many nieces and nephews, including George (Toni) McGarrett and their son, Christopher McGarrett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ilmar Lillvis; and sons, William Lillvis and Gary Lillvis.
