Michael Joseph Meek, 78, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away on February 13, 2024. He was born on May 1, 1945, in Flint, Michigan. Michael attended school at St. Michael's Flint. He had a deep connection to his faith and worshipped at Holy Family Church.
Michael proudly served in the United States Navy on Destroyer USS Orleck from 1963 to 1966, during the Vietnam Era. After his military service, he was employed for many years at General Motors and was a member of UAW Local 659.
In his free time, Michael enjoyed playing golf, keeping his home and yard beautiful, spending quality time with his family, watching nature, and baking special birthday cakes for his loved ones. He found joy in these simple pleasures and cherished the moments spent with his family.
Michael is survived by daughters, Julie Meek and Meredith Scott; granddaughters Jessica Meek (Justin Manning) and Miranda Scott (Jeremy Germani); great-grandchildren Aubrey and Axel Manning, Aleesia Germani; brother-in-law Gary Wheeler; former wife Carole Davis.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Blanche Meek, sister Madonna Wheeler, sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Robert Hatfield, son-in-law Eric Scott, and grandson Preston Scott.
A visitation will be held on February 19, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm at Hill Funeral Home in Grand Blanc, MI.
The Funeral Mass will be held on February 20, 2024, at 10am at Holy Family Church with visitation starting at 9:30am. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Outreach in memory of Michael Meek.
