LaRowe, Ruth, Age 89, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Friday June 4, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Deacon Ken Priess officiating. Burial will take place at Mancelona Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona, Michigan on Saturday, June 5 at 2PM. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10AM until time of service at the funeral home. Ruth was born in Mancelona, Michigan on November 2, 1931 to Gary and Ruth Minzey who both preceded her in death, as did her brothers, Dale and Gary Minzey, and sisters, Hope Butler and Patricia Brice; and her son, Christopher LaRowe. Ruth won the honor of Miss Mancelona during her high school career, and she carried that glamorous poise with her throughout her life. She worked for the Walli family in their Flint restaurants known simply as Walli’s for over 30 years as both a waitress and a hostess. She also worked later in life at Little Joe’s in Grand Blanc, and Big Boy on Miller Road in Flint. She is survived by five of her six children, Sue Ann (Arnold) Nelson, DeWayne LaRowe, Dale (Rita) LaRowe, Colleen (Michael) Joliat, and Jim LaRowe; grandchildren, Lisa LaRowe, John Delbridge, Gabe, Nick and Zac Ray, Brian and Bradley LaRowe, Connie Perez, Jennifer Hinkle, Kyle and Kate Howarth, Beth McAllister, Sara Keatts and Christopher LaRowe; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staffs at Karmanos Cancer Institute and Willowbrook Manor Skilled Nursing Facility for all of the special care they provided to Ruth over the last couple of years of her life. Ruth was classy and sassy and made every family event fun-filled and foodalicious. She will be missed by all who knew her. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
