Hackney, Carol Anne - Age 82, of Grand Blanc, died January 17, 2023. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, January 23 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 N. Belford Rd. Holly. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Sunday, January 22 with a 7 PM Vigil Service at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and from 10 AM until the Mass on Monday at the church. Carol was born June 27, 1940, the daughter of Griggs and Lucile (French) Biggam. She married Robert John Hackney on February 2, 1963; he preceded her in death on October 22, 2021. Carol was a nurse. She and Robert met working at General Motors. After raising their three children she went back to work in 1981. She then worked as a nurse for patients with in home care and in nursing homes before retiring. Carol was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Carol enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed all the dogs and giving them treats. Carol was always known as "Carol, your a nurse...." when her family and friends had health questions. She is survived by her 3 children, Erin Hackney of Eaton Rapids, Eric Hackney of Keystone Heights, FL, and Stephanie (Jim) Artushin of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Kayla and Ashley Hackney of Davison, Megan Hackney of Holt; dear friend, Saundra Knight. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
