MARTIN, Pearl Elaine - Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died June 11, 2022. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday, June 17, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Gideon's International (www.gideons.org) or the American Heart Association (www.heart.org). Elaine was born November 14, 1930 in Vassar, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Hortense (DeCou) Briggs. She married Melvin D. Martin on November 22, 1950 and he preceded her in death on Mach 17, 2009. Elaine retired from Genesee Bank / NBD where she was Assistant Vice President. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Surviving are: son, Daniel (Brenda) Martin of Swartz Creek; two grandchildren, Stephen Martin of Swartz Creek and Alyssa (Wladimir) Foo of Swartz Creek; three great-grandchildren, Adlana, Cadogan, and Egan Foo; brother, David (Ruth) Briggs of Traverse City; sister, Naomi Fuller of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Melvin Martin; brother, Donald Briggs; two sisters, Donna Cross and Marilyn Robinson.
