It is with profound sadness, we share the passing of Rachel Catherine Pavone, age 28, of Milford, Michigan, on September 7, 2025.
Born on October 19, 1996, in Flint and raised in Grand Blanc, Rachel was the beloved daughter of Anthony Pavone and Gerri Lynn (Steven) Pianko. She was a cherished sister to Leah Pavone and a loving stepsister to Emily, Gabrielle, and Cole Pianko.
Rachel was a proud graduate of Western Michigan University, where she earned her Master of Arts in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy with honors. As a certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, she dedicated her career to empowering individuals experiencing vision loss, teaching them essential life skills with compassion and expertise. Her work at the Wisconsin Council for the Blind and Visually Impaired reflected her own journey and resilience. Alongside her devoted leader dog, Glory, Rachel navigated the world with grace, independence, and unwavering determination. Glory was not only her guide but also her constant companion and source of joy.
Rachel’s greatest treasure was the people in her life. She nurtured deep, meaningful relationships with her large, loving family and many circles of friends who adored her. Her warmth, laughter, generosity, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved.
An accomplished jazz saxophonist, Rachel shared her passion for music by performing at weddings, parties, and local venues, including the farmer’s market at the Capitol in Madison, Wisconsin. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: feeling the sun on her face, listening to birds, and taking walks with Glory to the local coffee shop in downtown Milford.
Rachel is survived by a wide and loving circle of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She will be remembered as an inspiration—a shining example of living life to the fullest, never allowing obstacles to stand in the way of her dreams. |
