Philip Michael Graver, age 81, of Flushing, Michigan passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
Philip was born on August 17, 1941, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to the late Chester and Elizabeth (Philips) Graver, and was the oldest of five children. He started as a student for GMI (now Kettering) and worked for General Motors for forty two years. After retiring from there, he was contracted through Zeiss for seven years. For over forty years, Philip was a member of the Knights of Columbus both the third and fourth degree.
Philip was an avid hunter, and a classic car enthusiast. He also loved history. His intense love for ice cream and cookies lead him to be known as "the cookie monster." Philip loved to talk with everyone and anyone, and often had many stories to share with them. He was such a kind and loving man, and always was there to help someone in need. Philip's family was especially important to him, and he was very devoted to his children and grandchildren. Philip was very much loved, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege to know him.
Philip leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty four years, Mary; children Elizabeth, Sarah (Brian), Stephanie (Jim), Theresa (Luke), Rebecca and John aka The Crown Prince; grandchildren Morgan, Adam, Emily, Isabella, Ryan, Evan, Jocelyn and Journey; siblings Steve (Patricia), James (Maureen); and many nieces and nephews.
Philips is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Elizabeth Graver, brother Richard, sister Mary and first wife Linda (Dutil) Graver.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Reigle Funeral Home - 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Knights of Columbus ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM, followed by a Rosary Service at 8:00 PM. A funeral mass for Philip will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior, at St. Robert Bellarmine Church - 310 N. Cherry Street, Flushing, MI. Inurnment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association or the Knights of Columbus, Council 8489.
