Mahan, Cheryl Ann (Downey) passed away on June 29, 2023. Cheryl is the daughter of Patricia Ann (Castles) Downey and William Thomas Downey Jr. Born in Flint, Michigan on December 11, 1960, she always had a love of music, shopping, bowling, bingo, art, animals (especially dogs), and most of all her family. She and Forrest Wayne Mahan were married on February 24, 1979 and raised four children, Forrest Wayne Mahan Jr. (Kelly Mahan), Joseph Thomas Mahan (Jessica Mahan), Timothy William Mahan, and Melissa Ann Marie Mahan. Cheryl’s home was always welcome to many of her children’s friends, whom she also loved as family. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Degan, Layla, Aden, Mason, Forrest III, and Adalyn. Amongst those she loved are her aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, neighbors, and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother; and her two brothers; Steven William Downey and Michael Thomas Downey (Diane Downey), whom she missed
dearly. In lieu of a service, a celebration of life is to be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 4185 Moulton Dr. Flint, Michigan 48507, at 4:00pm. Contributions can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Humane Society of Genesee County in her honor. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc.
