Conquest, Karen R. – of Clio, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial to follow to Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12PM until 8PM and on Wednesday from 12PM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designations.
Karen was born March 31, 1953, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Carl and Grace (Raymond) Kelsey. She attended Flint Northern High School, graduating with the class of 1972. On May 3, 1975, Karen married the love of her life, Jimmy Dale Conquest, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, compassion, and the joys of family. She quickly discovered her passion for caring for others, a calling that would shape her life's work. Karen's compassionate nature led her to establish Conquest AFC, an adult foster facility she owned and operated for 40 years. Her unwavering dedication to providing a nurturing and comfortable environment for her residents touched the lives of countless individuals and families. Her selfless spirit and dedication to serving others truly defined her, and she will be fondly remembered for her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those she cared for. Beyond her work, Karen found solace in the beauty of nature, particularly by the beach. She would often retreat to the sandy shores, where the crashing waves and gentle breeze served as a backdrop for her moments of reflection and peace. But above all else, Karen's true joy and purpose came from her family. Her children were the light of her life, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Karen's unconditional love and unwavering support were a source of inspiration and strength for her loved ones.
Surviving are: Children: Theresa (Jeremiah) Harvey, Jason (Danielle) Conquest, Christopher Conquest, and Tina Goss; Grandchildren: Alexandra (Zackery) Palladeno, Zachary (Samantha) Willis, Emma Conquest, Olivia Conquest, Griffin Conquest, Logan Conquest, Jimmy Dale Goss, Lilly Harvey, Camryn Alexander, Lucas Harvey, Ethan Harvey, Dylan Harvey; She was bless with many great grandchildren; Brothers: Dan (Sue) Kelsey, and Steve (Carol) Kelsey; Sister, Carla (Brian) Hartig; Several nieces and nephews.
