GILES, Carol Sue – of Swartz Creek, eternally 29, died Monday, April 4, 2022 at her residence.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 and 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022, Reverend Dan Bowman officiating at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the National Alzheimer’s Association or plant a flower in your garden to help remember Carol each time it blooms.
Carol Sue Winegardner was born in Flint, Michigan on June 3, 1939, the daughter of Samuel and Laura (Kingery) Winegardner.
She was married to her husband, Frederick for nearly 60 years.
Carol spent much of her life volunteering to help others. She was a long-time volunteer at Applewood Estates and the Flint Institute of Arts.
She loved gardening and took great pride in her flowers.
Carol and Fred traveled the world together, experiencing a life of adventure only a few of us could imagine.
Carol was a proud mother to her son, Jeffery, who was her primary caregiver during her battle with Alzheimer’s. She always had a sparkle in her eyes as she talked about how proud she was of her daughter, Lisa.
Carol’s greatest joy could be found in her grandchildren, Alexander, Eleanor, Samuel and Caroline.
She was a fierce and loyal friend, who would help anyone, including perfect strangers at the drop of a hat.
She is left behind by her husband, Frederick;
son, Jeff and daughters, Eleanor and Caroline;
daughter, Lisa and sons, Alexander and Samuel Ray.
