Mr. Lloyd “Duffy” Taylor, 86, passed away on Thursday, May 4th, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Lloyd was born in Arbela Twp on June 15, 1936, to parents Howard & Mary (Ratza) Taylor. He was raised alongside his brothers Gary and Marvin and graduated from Millington High School. On November 3, 1956, Lloyd married the love of his life, Norma Hoard. Together they shared 66 years of wonderful marriage and memories. Lloyd retired from General Motors after 30 years with the Swartz Creek Parts Division. Further, he was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing euchre, and spending time with family. He was always willing to help and lend a hand, including helping farm with the Ziegler and Bierlein families. Above all, Lloyd loved his family.
Lloyd is forever loved by his wife, Norma; daughter, Shelli (Dennis) Lugg; grandchildren: Paul (Meggan), Mason, Andy (Morgan), Heather (John II), Christopher (Christiana), and Brandon; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Arianna, John III, Gavin, Ariel; special friends, Howard & Millie Maurer, and Chris Kriesh; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Paris; parents, Howard & Mary; brothers, Gary and Marvin; son-in-law, David Rogers.
The family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington (4823 W. Main Street, Millington, MI 48746) from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, May 8th, 2023. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4941 Center Street, Millington, MI 48746); additional visitation at church beginning at 12 p.m. and lasting until the time of service.
Those wishing to make donations in Lloyd’s name are asked to consider: Millington – Arbela Twp. Fire Department, St. Paul Lutheran Church, or Millington Community Center.
